Just curious: what makes you think that posting in this forum would make a difference?

How do you know that this forum is read by the development team let alone taken into account?

We’ll see, we’ll see

As if the Outlook team had never ever received a word that something was wrong in the state of Denmark

What are the positive changes in oulook 2010 compared to outlook 2007 (except for customized ribbon)? My personal answer is – none

Anyway, you’ve got another forum https://forums.slipstick.com/forumdisplay.php?f=36 for wishlist. Wouldn’t it be better to post everything in “ ?

Ability to set the Calendar Days view manually (e.g. M-Su--2 weeks) and not have Outlook constantly readjust/update. The paper calendar model has given up a framework of looking at a week at a time, not "the next 7 days". Easy fix.

This forum was in response to an article about the 'let's fix outlook' campaign last fall. That group wanted to fix HTML rendering - I felt there were more important things that needed 'fixing' and wanted to see what the community thought was more important.

It's too late to fix Outlook 2010 though. :(

Being able to select and copy text in Reading Pane. Ridiculous that this is not possible.

If you are talking about Outlook 2007, you can. Are you using Ctrl+C, right click Copy or Ctrl+Insert? Ctrl+Insert is a bug that was fixed by Outlook 2007 SP2. If the bug returned to Outlook 2010, I'll make sure they are aware of it.

I am curious what was actually the result of the 'let's fix outlook' campaign?

I think that the search needs to be fixed in Outlook, it is ridiculous that such an important thing has been disregarded so much during the development. It is not that difficult other search tools like lookeen have also been developped for Outlook and I don't think that these developpers had all the information the developpers of Microsoft had.

This forum was for the community to discuss bigger problems that needed fixing than HTML formatting used by spammers marketers. (it was too late in the product cycle to be useful to Microsoft for Outlook 2010)

Search was sucky but its much better in 2007 and 2010 with Instant Search. Could it be better? Yes, but its serviceable for a large percentage of users and the capitalist in me thinks its where it should be - those who need more can buy Looken.

it sounds very vague.

I reckon the honest and straightforward answer to the question "I am curious what was actually the result of the 'let's fix outlook' campaign? " is: there wasn't any

to be expected.

Outlook 2010 on an Exchange Server (2010) has the ability to share secondary calendars with other Exchange users.

Outlook 2011 on the Mac cannot share a secondary calendar created in OL 2011.

I did find a bit of a work around by creating the secondary calendar in OL 2010 and give permissions to the primary calendar and the secondary calendar there.

Then in OL 2011 open the other user's primary calendar and click the drop down next to it to view the secondary calendar.

Perhaps they can update this in OL 2011. Don't know if it is too late to ask though.

It's never too late to ask, but whether it gets into a the new version or an update remains to be seen.

No, no. Don't bother Microsoft about Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010. They are working as they should for sharing secondary calendars. The problem is with Outlook 2011. If you make a secondary calendar in Outlook 2011, you can't share it. Unless you give folder visible permission to the root calendar. And Outlook 2011 will not open a shared secondary calendar setup in Outlook 2010.

You need to give folder visible to all folders in the path, otherwise the subfolder will be hidden along with other contents. (Same is true with IMAP) If it won't open after giving the correct permissions to all folders, then its a bug or by design or whatever they want to call "it doesn't work like users think it should".

I don't have a Mac to test it but I think Diane does.
