Exchange 2007 SP2

Symantec Backup Exec v.12.5 (backups are done via VSS)

We're currently moving all our mailboxes to new DBs since we cannot afford

the luxury to do offline defrags.

I've been doing these moves despite the fact we're running backups on the

DBs at that time.

Just an FYI, I'm not enabling circular logging on the destination DBs so the

backups are purging the logs.

Does anyone see any problems doing this?

Thanks,

Mike Bonvie

No real problems but you probably ought to assess the amount of users

you want to move, move them and then do a backup. Then do more moves.

If the destination store dies in the middle of a move you're going to

have a bit of a rollback issue and AD is going to take a while to work

out WTF is happening and set back to the old homemdb.
