Outlook stops responding. Using article 940226 I checked .pst and .ost file sizes.

I discovered I have multiple .pst and .ost files--archive 7.9GB, archive1 265 KB, Outlook 1.675 GB, Outlook0 1.751 GB, and Outlook1 .744 GB. Are the multiple file causing performance issues and can i delete all but archive and outlook? I am using Outlook 2007 (12.0.6514.5000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6529.5000)

Do you actually have those files OPEN in Outlook (look at your folder list) or just on your hard drive?

If you're having performance issues in Outlook there can be a number of causes - do you have Norton configured to scan your incoming e-mail? If so, you might consider turning that off. To turn it off with Norton, unfortunately, you'll probably have to uninstall Norton completely then reinstall it minus the e-mail scanning module.

How much RAM do you have in your machine?

What sort of performance issues are you having?
