I have same issue:

Outlook 14 crashes upon opening a second email. I have multiple profiles, and the same happens in each of them. There is no error message, it simply, crashes, and restarts.

What is logged to the Event Viewer about this?

Are you using the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Outlook?

Can you repro this issue in Outlook Safe Mode?

Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

(note the space in the command)

If it works now, your issue is most likely caused by an add-in.

Which add-ins do you have installed?

Disable them all and see if the issue still occurs. If not, you can enable them one-by-one to find the culprit. For details see;

I think disabling the addin for Nuance PDF Converter Pro fixed the problem for me. Here is the event viewer message for the fault:

I just installed Office 2010. Outlook will open, but as soon as I click on any email I get the message “Microsoft Outlook has stopped working.” Outlook then closes. I have disabled all the add-ins. I have started it in safe mode. I get the save error either way. I'm using Window 7 (32-bit). Anyone have any ideas on a fix?

I had the same experience. Outlook would crash every time I opened a new email item the first time. I got the same signature in the application event log. The crashes stopped when I removed the Nuance PDF Converter Pro 6.0 add-in. It seems it's not compatible. I searched the Nuance knowledge base but didn't find any reference to this problem.

I was having Outlook 2010 exiting abruptly as well for the past 2 days I had it. Clean install.

It was very bad (almost once every other message) and it seemed to be mostly when I click Reply to a message or when I click the Send button after I have composed a reply.

Disabling the PDF Convertor 6.0 Outlook Add-In this morning seemed to have solved the problem so far......

I'm having the same error and now it is solved already by disabling the add ins.

Thanks a lot.

Ditto. Uninstalling Nuance 6.0 got rid of the same problem.

I have windows 2019 and Outlook 2010. Outlook opens then immediately crashes when I attempt to open any tab.

Thank you. This also worked for me. I had to remove Nuance PDF Converter 6 and that did the trick. I'll pursue this with Nuance...
