Am I understanding correctly that once you have your Exchange 2010 environment up (E2003 and E2007 are migrated and removed) you can have one external URL that mobile phones or computers can hit for their respective needs (OWA, EAS or OA)?

thanks,

You can have a single domain (ie. mail.contoso.com) but unfortunately not a single External URL. In fact, the requirements for ExternalURL are different for all the services running on the CAS box. For instance, the ExternalURL for EWS must include the path all the way out to the asmx file, the OWA ExternalURL must include the OWA VDir, and so on.
There's a good write-up about this on the Exchange Team Blog:

If worried more about just the host & domain name than the actual directories so he can plan for certificate purchasing, then for the most part yeah you *could* have one URL (with appropriate subdirectories configured) if Exchange 2003/2007 are gone.Brian Day, Overall Exchange & AD Geek
