Remote clients currently access outlook web app using https://mail.domain.com/owa.
I have setup a client access array called casarray.domain.com. I want internal users to also use https://mail.domain.com/owa to access web app.
2 questions:
1) On internal dns, should mail.domain.com point to the nlp ip of casarray.domain.com ?
2) Should internal outlook clients use the exchange server name as casarray.domain.com or mail.domain.com ?

1) Yes.

2) casarray.domain.com

The only time internal clients would use the mail.domain.com name is if you are using RPC/HTTPS (Or for autodiscover/EWS/UM) so it would be in the HTTP URL configuration area, but the Exchange server would remain casarray.domain.com. Brian Day, Overall Exchange & AD Geek

So when I create the user's outlook profile, I would be entering casarray.domain.com as the exchange server name ?
Should I make mail.domain.com a cname record to casarray.domain.com or a host record ?

If you have Outlook 2007 and above, it'll automatically find it, for earlier version you have to put casarray.domain.com
In my Exchange 2007 environment, I have mail.domain.com as a host record, and everything works fine, Outlook Anywhere, Autodiscover...alfa21

Same here, both are A records in DNS with low TTLs.
