Is it possible to connect an Outlook 2003 client to an Exchange 2003 server if both are in different domains?

Hi,

Bit of a strange question.

I am managing a brand new 2008 domain. We don't yet have our own Exchange server.

Is it possible to connect an Outlook client to an existing Exchange server within another domain (we own) with account credentials in the (same as the Exchange box) domain without creating interdomain trusts etc?

Open to all suggestions!

Thanks :D

Yes. Create a new outlook profile for your new mailbox. It will prompt you for a user name and password. Enter user name from your exchange domain. Assuming you have name resolution to you Exchange server and Domain from the workstation.

I have name resolution to the Exchange box only (via a hosts file entry). Not sure what else I would need to work.
