My problem started a while ago after everything has been working without problems for one year. My first problem was that ActiveSync stopped to work, when I tried to solve this problem I recreate all Virtual Directories in the IIS by following the instructions on the URL (http://my.opera.com/RavenOverride/blog/2009/06/17/how-to-recreate-all-virtual-directories-for-exchange-2007). The only problem I had following these instructions was the last part where I should use appcmd.exe to disable KernalMode.

After that I now have a bigger problem L When I try to access the OWA I always get a http error 404. I try to open the URL: http://srapp01.[domain].com/owa and automatically gets redirected to http://srapp01.[domain].com/owa/auth/logon.aspx?url=http://srapp01. [domain].com/owa&reason=0 and then I get the 404 error.

I have checked the IIS log file and there I also se the 404 error.

I have a GoDaddy certificate installed that has been working without problems I have not made any changes to the certificate settings so I don"t think that is the problem.

I have run out of ides" what to do, I hope anyone have some suggestions.

Any errors in the Event logs (application log)?

Can you tell us about your Exchange environment? Servers, roles for each server, if there are multile sites, etc?
Is this only you or all users?

I don't have any errors in the event log.

This problem is for all users

I have run all Exchange roles on one server, I only have one domain and nothing else on the server uses IIS.

Hi,

Please follow the official document from technet to re-create OWA virtual directory. From the following article, we can find the detail steps to re-create OWA virtual directory.

Error message when you try to log on to Exchange 2007 by using Outlook Web Access: "440 Login Timeout"

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941201/en-us

Besides, you can try to uninstall CAS and re-install to get back the default settings.

Xiu

I have now followed the instructions to recreate the OWD Virtual Directory without any success. I still get a 404 error.

I started the installationprogram for Exchange 2007 but it is not possible remove the CAS, the checkbox is checked and disabeld., how to reinstall CAS?

For me it don't feel like a problem in the CAS, it feels more like a IIS problem since I get a 404 error.

Hi,

Have you tried the following hotfix:

"HTTP Error 404 - File or Directory not found" error message when you request dynamic content with IIS 6.0

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315122

Please try to uninstall the CAS role from Add/Remove and then re-install it from Exchange Setup media.

Besides, I found one article when can help you to remove and re-install IIS on a computer that is running Exchange Server, you can have a try.

How to remove and to reinstall IIS on a computer that is running Exchange Server

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320202

Regards,

Xiu

Problem solved, the reason i got HTTP 404 errors was becuase the Web Service Extension "ASP.NET v2.0.50727" in IIS was Prohibited. When I allowed ASP.NET 2.0 in the IIS problem was solved.

Thanks for the tips of KB315122 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315122), that solve my problem.
