Recipients receive multiple copies of email

I am being notified by email recipients that when I forward an email with attachment, they receive multiple copies. Last one was received 22X. When I look at the "sent" folder, the email does not appear. I suspect a virus of some sort, but it is not picked up by Trend Micro.

Does your AV do outbound email scanning? If so disable it (and that might involve uninstalling and then re-installing minus the email scanning function). See if that helps

I have the same problem although the sent email also stays in the outbox. I can delete it from there only if I cancel all send/receive tasks first.

I have disabled AV.. Didn't help.

Please someone (for the sake of my sanity) find me an answer.
