Outlook 2010 will not pull in my email from my provider & the font in the body of the message area is so small it can't be read unless I use a #72

Forget Me Not

I have spent hours on the telephone with my email provider (Frontier Communications) trying to get Outlook setup to pull in my email and nothing works. I have tried changing the font sizes in the message area & changing the default font in Outlook and that didn't work either

Perhpas I don't understand. How are you reading messages in the Reading Pane unless you have been able to download them, which you say you cannot do?

Try reading the Help pages at Frontier (http://www.frontierhelp.com/faq.cfm?catid=143) and compare what they say with your Outlook settings. This page is particularly helpful: http://www.frontierhelp.com/usertools.cfm?qstid=566&catid=282

Note that for Outlook 2010, you'll have to click File>Account Settings to reach the dialogues for configuring accounts instead of following the exact instructions in the Frontier articles, since they apply to Outlook 2007. You can also use the Mail applet in Control Panel.

The font size issue is probably your Zoom factor. Check the Zoom chunk on the ribbon.

Do you get an error message when you try to do a send/receive in Outlook? Try the basic trouble shooting steps for send/receive issues and also ensure to have the correct settings for the email account. Regarding the font size issue, hold the "Ctrl" key on the keyboard and move the scroll button forward. This should increase the zoom value.

DAGNAB it. I was hoping it was only me having that much trouble with the Frontier/outlook interface. OK, I was really hoping I could go to bed and wake up in the morning to a function e-mail system, where my Frontier mail, my business mail and my work e-mail could all peacefully coexist, in their separate little boxes inside of Outlook. The status now, which satisified the 3rd Frontier chat tech I went through tonight, is that yes, the Frontier e-mail now downloads into my Outlook mailbox. However, I can't open or read or navigate in the inbox because it freezes up. The only way to shut Outlook down now is through the task manager.

lovely answer, but what the bleep is a Mail applet???????????? Too tired to deal anymore tonight. May the computer fairy come over night and fix this.

Do you face the same issue if you view your mail using outlook on any other computer?

Check with the view settings in the mail for Zoom, I guess the zoom is set lower than 100%
