Once I open Outlook, within a minute, I get the following error message: " Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Then--" Please tell Microsoft about this problem." And then it closes.

This happens every time I try to open Outlook! So I'm forced to use the web-based version.

Please provide your version of Outlook and email account type for further troubleshooting.

Also, have you done any troubleshooting? Have you checked your application event viewer? Are there any error messages and/or numbers? Did Outlook ever work? When did it stop?

What web-based version of Outlook are you talking about?
Microsoft

i have the same problem, I sent a complaint to MS and they shipped me off to this web-site. Let me know if you find the answer. Since I upgraded my 2003 version I now also don't have my old version available anymore either. In an act of desperation i uninstalled the 2010 version. Well, you all know what happend next; it deleted my old version too, PLUS ALL my contacts. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
