Outlook 2010 keeps asking for credentials

Not open for further replies.

Every time I open Outlook 2010, the program prompts me to put in my credentials. I tell it to remember my credentials, but it never does. If I close the program, it asks for my credentials again on the next start up. It is annoying, and I was wondering if there is any way I can get it to remember my credentials so I don't have to put them in every time I open the program.

We'll need to know more about your setup to help.

Is the workstation domain-joined?

Are you connecting via Outlook Anywhere?

We are also facing the same issue.

My Setup is
1) Exchange Server - 2007
2) MS Client - MS Outlook 2010
3) Machine joined to Domain.
4) Domain Funtion Level 2008
5) All Domain Controllers 2008 SP2
6) Schema has been upgraded for Exchange 2010 with SP1 installation.

Can you please give some solution, why users are getting authentication prompt again and again.

In order to clarify the current issue, please answer me the following questions:

1. Does this issue happen on every users or some specific users?

2. How Outlook connect to Exchange? RPC over Http or TCP/IP?

3. What were you doing when the authentication window pop up? E.g. You"re visiting a public folder or something else.

I await your reply.

Hi Tyler,
Answer to your questions are:

1) Yes almost most of the users those are using Outlook 2010 with Exchange 2007.

2) RPC over Http is enabled for the users and they get prompt in office LAN as well.

3) In the middle of work authenticate windows come up, when we enter the iD password its again start working..

I have a similar problem. Here are my system details:
Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 SP2 (with all current updates installed) Exchange Server 6 (with all current updates installed) 2 Clients Windows 7 Professional (with all current updates installed) 1 Client Windows 7 Ultimate (with all current updates installed) Office 2010 on all clients (with all current updates installed.

The problem only effects one client running Win7 Prof -- a laptop. When connected and joined directly to the LAN for the domain (or connected remotely via SBS VPN) and upon opening Outlook 2010, this machine comes up with a Windows Security window that asks me for credentials. It lists Adminstrator, Another Account and Insert a Smart Card. I fill in Another Account with user name and password and Outlook connects to the server. I tell it so save the credentials which has no impact on future connections. This behavior only has started in the past month. With the same configuration this did not happen before. I suspect it has something to do with Microsoft updates in the past month.

I have searched the fora and tried all solutions related to similar conditions to no avail. Microsoft needs to produce a technical note on credentials for Exchange and Outllook. It is an obvious problem for lots of people.

I am also having the same problem. Just upgrade all our PCs to Office Professional 2010. Happens on both Windows 7 PCs and XP PCs. We have are running a Microsoft SBS 2008 with Exchange 2008. Are there any fixes?
