Scheduled meeting delivers an email instead of a meeting notice.

I just installed Outlook 2010 on my computer. When I schedule a meetings now, the meeting requests are delivered as an email with no ability to Accept/Decline and no ability to add to calendar. I used to be able to do this with no problem before my upgrade. The receiving computer is running Outlook 2007.

Is there some setting I need to change in order to send an actual meeting notice when I schedule a meeting?

To get Response options when you create a new meeting and send it via email do the following.

While creating a new meeting click the "Response Options" dropdown in "Attendees" under "Meeting" tab and ensure to select the option "Request Responses".

Try this.

Manually Uninstall & Re-install Outlook:

Step 1 – Make Outlook unavailable Make Outlook Unavailable from Maintenance Mode

1. Click the Start Button

2. Open Control Panel > Program & Features

3. Click to select Microsoft Office or Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 and click Change

4. Select "Add or Remove Features" and click Next.

5. Click to uncheck Outlook and update the installation.

Step 2: Backup the Registry

1. Click on the Start Button

2. Type Regedit into the Search bar and press Enter.

3. At this point your screen will glaze over and Windows will ask you for permission to run this command, Click Continue and Registry Editor will open.

4. Within the Registry Editor Windows Click File and then Click Export.

5. Name your Backup something like Registry_Backup, change Export Range to All, click Save.

6. Give your computer a moment to complete the task. Delete "Outlook" key from the following location in registry: (If some keys can't be deleted or found, please skip them, this will not influence the result of the troubleshooting) Click on the + sign to expand the registry keys, the keys following the backslash (\) are sub keys, right click on the last sub key and click Delete.
