When I used Outlook 2007 on XP, there's no problem working with the LDAP server in my company. Recently I've upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 and installed Outlook 2007, it takes almost 13 seconds when I search a name in the address book using LDAP server. If the LDAP setting is removed, the searching speed is very fast. Please suggest solution, thanks.

Try changing the dword value for LDAP in the registry.

Note: Back up the registry before you modify or delete any keys using the link below.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Back-up-the-registry

1. Click Start ->Run (Windows key + R key) and type regedit->click ok.

2. Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/12.0/Outlook/ldap.

3. On the right pane change the dword value for “Nodisplaynamesearch”

4. Double click on “Nodisplaynamesearch”

5. In value data enter 00000001.

6. Click ok.

7. Open Outlook and check.

There is no HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/12.0/Outlook/ldap in regedit, I tried to add " ldap" and dword value " Nodisplaynamesearch" but the problem still persists. Tried " LDAP" also but no luck. Please advice, thanks!

My question is about Outlook 2007, Windows 7 and LDAP but not Exchange, should I still post my question in the " Exchange" forum?
