Office 2010 - Changing meeting invites from certain times to 'all day'

My boss has a secretary send out "meeting" invites for all daily deadlines for 8:00 AM. This is not how these calendars are supposed to be used, and this drives me insane since now numerous "reminders" are set as 8:00 meetings. In older versions of Office, I was able to accept the invitation, go into it, and change the time to all-day. But in Office 2010, that option is blocked out, and I am only able to change to a different time. Is there a way to do this?

Is this for an Exchange account type?

Why not instruct here to send out the meeting correctly or ask her to send Task Requests instead?

Not sure what you mean by exchange account type. It's Outlook 2010 calendars.

The complexity of my question comes with dealing with the ludicrous constraints imposed by my boss. I can't show the secretary how to do it correctly because my boss wants it done his own way. He doesn't actually use the outlook calendar - he just wants outlook to send two week reminders to his iphone that a due date is coming up. But if it's "all day", the reminder comes at midnight; he wants them at 8:00 AM.

So an alternative question is whether I can make the reminders for "all day" events come at 8:00 AM instead of midnight?

I tried the task requests - this is something new to me, and it actually seems to be a great answer to my question, or would be if it weren't for my boss. Two problems: 1) the sender can't be on the request, so the secretary would have to calendar it for herself separately. 2) You can't set the reminder for someone - the whole purpose of our ridiculous calendaring system is that he gets reminders at 8:00 AM two weeks in advance - and my boss wouldn't actually take the time to set up the reminder for every task request; he wants it so that all he has to do is click accept and it's ready to go.

So if I can fix those problems, then this would be an option also.
