I have just purchased a new Windows 7 64-bit desktop and want to transfer using Easy Transfer / Belkin Easy Transfer cable. I have installed Windows 2003 sucessfully - all programs open normally. My question is on Outlook - should I go through the Outlook startup wizard prior to transferring from my old computer or will all my settings, mail and contacts get transferred?

After installing Office 2003, I have opened Outlook and it has brought up the startup wizard - should I continue with the startup wizard or cancel it and begin the Easy Transfer process?

STOP! Do NOT, I repeat NOT, use Windows Easy transfer to migrate your Outlook data.

It may work for you, but the chances of it causing a corrupted mail profile are pretty high.

Go here to see how to transfer your Outlook data.

Gordon, Thanks for the info. I appreciate your response. Is Easy transfer ok to use for the rest of my data? Any info is appreciated!
