Transfer Outlook 2007 PST file to new computer running Outlook 2010

I am trying to transfer my PST file in MS Outlook 2007 to my new computer that is running Outlook 2010. Can someone please provide detailed instructions to do this. Also, how many PST files do I need to transfer to my new computer to keep the same file structure, and calendar?

Also, my 2007 PST was done in 32-bit and I am not running 64-bit. Does this make a difference?

All you have to do is copy the PST file to the new machine then File | Open | Outlook Data File and open the PST file there. 32-bit vs. 64-bit makes no difference when it comes to PST files.

Also, in addition to Ben's method, Outlook 2010 allows you to connect to an existing PST file as you create your new profile so you don't have to deal with another PST file that Outlook creates and then switch to using your existing file. Just make sure you use manual configuration option for the new profile.Russ Valentine
