Outlook 2010 - AutoComplete not working properly

Not open for further replies.

Hello, I just want to start by saying this is a great community, as you can see I am really new, however I have visited over 50 posts on this forum that have helped me get ready for the Office 2010 transition in my workplace.

My question today is about AutoComplete, prior to upgradting to Office 2010 (All Updated) 32Bit - Windows XP(SP3) I was using Office 2003.

I understand in office 2003 that your Auto Complete was stored in a N2K File (this is new to me) and that Office 2010 (Outlook) does not use this N2K File no more

Well after updating, my AutoComplete List is acting buggy, sometimes I can search by First Name, other times I have to search by last name... in the CC: field and not the To: field.

I did goto Options and empy my AutoComplete list, but the same issue is happening, I also took the liberty of verifying my contacts name was properly setup in my addressbook, but that still does not do the trick, I also took the libery of deleting the old ocntact, and creating a new one from scratch,

sending them an email, and then closing it not saving the draft

and the user's name comes up, if i type the first name, but not the last name

however I have other contacts i can search by first, last, phone number

why does this happen? I am confused, I say this because I have 4 people I email regularly that start with Mon, so I would prefer to use their last names, obviously 3 of them work grea,t but the other one I am dealing with is not working at all, and their is no special characters in her name or email addy

any ideas??

thanks again

I have tried repairing my outlook with scanpst.exe and that did not resolve anything.

Your post is confusing. You say your " my AutoComplete List" is acting buggy. There is no " AutoComplete list" that you can see or search on any way. Moreover you seem to think your autocompletion cache is connected to your Contacts, which it is not in any way. Any settings you may have made to your Contacts have no connection to your autocompletion cache.

Clarify your question in light of these realities, please. You seem to be confusing autocompletion with some other function.
