Ijust noticed this for the first time since I installed Outlook back in early Summer. When I get several new emails in my inbox when I open Outlook they, as expected, appear in bold type as unread with the blue bar positioned on the top one. If I choose to open it right then and click on the next message the blue bar moves to it and the previous message subject appears in regular type. I take this to mean it has been read even though I never opened it. Am I missing something here? I really don't like that behavior but, like a lot of things in life, I may just have to live with it.
Is there a way to change this behavior?
