Office Version:Office 2007

Operating System:Windows 7

When I used Outlook 2007 on XP, there's no problem working with the LDAP server in my company. Recently I've upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 and installed Outlook 2007 (used Windows update to install all available updates, including SP2 for Office 2007), it takes around 13 seconds when I search a name in the address book using LDAP server. If the LDAP setting is removed, the searching speed is very fast. Please suggest solution, thanks.

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

1. Quit Office.

2. Click Start, and then click Search.

3. In the Search box, type regedit, and then click OK.

4. Verify that the following key exists. If it does, go to step 5.

5. If the key does not exist, you must create it. To do so:

6. Locate and then select the following registry key:

7. Click the Edit menu, click New, and then click Key.

8. Type ldap, and then press the ENTER key.

9. Click the Edit menu, click New, and then click DWORD Value.

10. Type the following name for the new value:

11. NoDisplayNameSearch

12. Press the ENTER key.

13. Right-click the new string value name, and then click Modify.

14. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

15. Exit Registry Editor.
