Outlook 2010 Shared Calendar - Appointment Feature

We recently installed SBS 2008 with Exchange 2007. At set up, we had associated a domain name X with the SBS as well as the Exchange. After review, it was decided certain issues could arise and the domain name for the mail was changed, or rather, added domain name Y and set it to default as the " true" authorative domain.

No issues have arisen with our mail since then, however we are having trouble now with shared calendars. User A previously shared his calendar with Users B & C; originally, before the domain was changed to domain name Y, Users B & C could add new appointment to User A's calendar. Since the domain name change from X to Y, Users B & C cannot add appointments, yet have to send meeting requests.

However, this only occurs on the two designated workstations for Users B & C. If Users B & C go to another workstation and log into the network, they are able to add appointments to User A's calendar.

Have tried changing the various permission settings within Outlook 2010 for Users B & C from User A's Outlook. Also have removed the calendar entirely from Users B & C and reshared with various permission levels, including owners. To no avail, Users B & C cannot add appointments to User A's calendar.

Not certain if this could be a profile glitch within the workstations; am very hesitant to fool with deleting any profiles in the regedit or anything of that nature.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Joey G.

Hi Joey,

Is User B & C working in Cached Mode on the affected machines?

If so, then the first thing I would do is uncheck " download shared folders" .

File > Account Settings > Account Settings > highlight Exchange account > Change > More Settings > Advanced

If the user works as expected now and they require the " download shared folders" to be checked, then I would close Outlook, locate and rename the users OST file and then restart Outlook and recreate the OST.

If this still fails, then I would suggest trying a new Outlook profile on those machines.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918

If that fails, then I would suggest logging into a machine as a different user (User D) and then create an Outlook profile for User B and see if that works.

If that works then I would test creating a new Windows Profile on the box.

Teresa,

Thank you for your response. Users B & C were working in Cached Mode; I unchecked the " download shared folders" ; restarted Outlook and now they are able to work fine and add appointments to User A's calendar. Issue seems resolved at this point in time.

Thanks again for your assitance!
