Outlook 2007 on domain joined clients to connect to Exchange 2010 SP1 (autodiscovery and mail.domain.com published addresses) for Outlook Anywhere.

No support for mail on non domain joined clients (e.g. home PCs), but since autodiscovery is available for OA - how can that be blocked?

Exchange ActiveSync to be supported as well.

OA is meant to the requirement for VPN, so there's limited functionality to block it - only on user level using things like

Set-CASMailbox -Identity <MailID> -MAPIBlockOutlookRpcHttp:$false

OA uses RPC over HTTP which travels over port 443 so you can't block that. Note that RPC/HTTP uses the /rpc and /rpccert virtual folders. You can try blocking those on your reverse proxy to block access from the outside world, but that would also mean no access for travelling people accessing outlook using domain joined clients.

An area I'm thinking of is client certificates. This comes down to putting client certificates on your clients and requiring them on your reverse proxy. But AFAIK Outlook doesn't understand the IIS request for a client certificate
