Hi Dave,

You said you want your junior HD staff to be able to manage all mailboxes on the users database, and you have created a custom role based on the Databases Role, but the New-MoveRequest(move mailboxes) is not a cmdlet included in the Databases Role. You can run the cmdlet

Get-ManagementRoleEntry " Databases\*" to check.

So please assign other roles(e.g Move Mailboxes Role) to test again.

Hi Frank, many thanks for your reply. Does that meen then that i would greate multiple RoleAssigmentPolicies, point all of them to my custom scope and then use a USG as the -security option for the multiple Role Assigment Policies??

Hi Dave,

Actually, it is not called Role Assignment policy, it is Management Role Assignment. RoleAssignmentPolicy is another concept.

So about your question, you should find which Parent Roles will be used, then create respective child Role based on the parent role.

Then create multiple Management Role Assignments.

But it will be easier to create a New Role Group .

Create a Role Group

Hi Frank, if i use a role group, would i be correct in saying that i wouldnt be able to apply an exsclusive recipientwritescope to the group, only customscopes?

Hi Dave,

It is enough to create a custom scope for your question. The users can only modify the objects in the scope.

About the exclusive scope:

" Unlike regular scopes, which don't take effect until you associate a scope to a management role assignment, the deny aspect of an exclusive scope takes effect immediately. This means that as soon as an exclusive scope is created, the objects contained within that scope are immediately no longer accessible by any user until the role assignment has been created. "
