We are in the process of upgrading from Exchange Server 2003 SP2 to Exchange Server 2010 SP1. In Exchange Server 2003 we created a Recipient Policy to delete emails older than 90 days from some folders (e.g. Deleted Items). In Exchange 2010 SP1 I created 3 Retention Tags and then created a Retention Policy and included these tags. Then I applied the Retention Policy to a group of mailboxes. The next day I checked but nothing happened. From some forums I find retention Policies should run daily. Then I tried to run the powershell command Start-ManagedFolder Assistant and it doesn't give option to run for all the mailboxes. I also tried to run Get-Mailbox -Database <DatabaseName> | Set-Mailbox -RetentionPolicy <RetentionPolicyName> but it gives an error id 72FFD676. It is frustrating that it was such an easy task to create a Recipient Policy in Exchange 2003 and it worked but now it is hard to apply Retention Policies to all users and also it doesn't run at all. We will highly appreciate if anyone can help.
