Hello,

I am looking for the registry entry to enable/disable cache mode for Outlook 2010. I know how to do it in Outlook 2003/2007.

For Outlook 2003/2007 the location is here:

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\<ProfileName>\13dbb0c8aa05101a9bb000aa002fc45a]

Outlook 2003:

00036601 (REG_BINARY)

enabled value; 84 01 00 00
enabled with Public Folders/Favorites: 84 05 00 00
disabled value; 04 00 00 00

Outlook 2007:

enabled value; 84 19 00 00

enabled with Public Folders/Favorites: 84 05 00 00
disabled value; 04 10 00 00

In Outlook 2010 you can browse to the same place in the registry but there is only one entry in there. I tried enabling cache mode from Outlook and then exporting the key. I then disabled cache mode and tried merging the key and it did not work. There must be somewhere else in the registry that Outlook 2010 is writing to.

Also I am familiar with how this can be done via group policy but I need this in a script which I will be deploying via Zenworks so the registry key is the optimal place for me to do this.

Thanks in advance

You might be able to find it by looking to see how the GPO does it.Ed Crowley MVP " There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

I found the solution using a Registry Tracer. I should have searched the key. (doh!). In the registry it is located in d4c3fff326ad1c498c9982bc456d4c6a in Outlook 2010.

Outlook 2010

Cached Exchange Mode is controlled by the following key;

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook\d4c3fff326ad1c498c9982bc456d4c6a]

00036601 (REG_BINARY)

enabled value; 84 19 00 00
enabled with Public Folders/Favorites: 84 05 00 00
disabled value; 04 10 00 00
