Hi @all

We have following issue:

The free Busy isn't shown neither in 2007 Client, nor in 2003 Client. But on the OWA it is shown normally as usual.

I've Checked the SSL Setting on both Server, sll is deactivated and Windows Auth is enabled

Clean Freebusy did not work for me

has anyone a hint?

Thx in advance

Frederic

From Outlook do a Test Email Autoconfiguration and see if you are able to get the correct Autodiscover url's

Try browsing https://<FQDN>/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml, on the Exchange server you should get a status code 600

if this works then try https://<FQDN>/EWS/exchange.asmx on the Exchange server you should get a XML output.

If these does not work you can try to recreate Autodiscover and ExchangeWebServices VDIR's make sure that you take a backup prior from IIS and then recreate.

Keep us posted !!!

I am assuming you tried to browse

https://SRVMXXX.XXXX.int/EWS/Exchange.asmx

When you received this output, if yes then its the correct Output. can you do the same test from domain joined client. Also I want to know which users are we checking F/B off i mean all your users are on Exchange 2007/2010 or do you have any legacy servers as well in the domain namely Exchange 2003? check if you can set OOF for the same users..

For error 403, please go to IIS log, and then find the traces that contain the error (KB 943891)

Please refer to the article below to troubleshoot the issue

Troubleshooting Free/Busy Information for Outlook 2007

Please increase the diagnostic logging level on the availability service component, reproduce the issue, and then search for related error event in the application log on the CAS server

Hi There

Thanks for your reply...

I have to rectify,

Exchange 2007 Server

We could deal with the problem in the 2007 and 2010 Outlook Clients. But we are still facing the problem in outlook 2003 Client.

Does your post deal with 2003 or only with 2007?

Thx in advace

J

James-Luo

No, the article and the method above is used to troubleshoot availability service functionality for outlook 2007 and outlook 2010

Outlook 2003 is using the free busy data that has been published in public folder

You can use MFCMAPI tool to verify the free busy message on public folder, republish the free/busy data with /cleanfreebusy switch

Useful tools while troubleshooting Outlook issues (3) - MFCMAPI

Function (null)

and

Error: GetProps(NULL) failed
Code: MAPI_E_EXTENDED_ERROR == 0x80040119
Function (null)
File .\SingleMAPIPropListCtrl.cpp

You said there"re two server and it"s exchange 2007, can you describe more about the exchange topology and the public folder databases on them?

Please run the cmdlet below and post the output about the subfolders under the “Schedule+ Free Busy” container

Get-PublicFolder " \Non_IPM_SubTree\" -Recurse | fl name,replicas

HI James-Luo

that's right, we were Planning to migrate on 2010. For this, we installed a second Mailserver on a 2008R2 machine. But thisone isn't productive at this time. (Is up and running smoothly, but does only host a testmailbox at this time)

SRVMAIL01 (old instance, holding all mailboxes 2003R2)

SRVEXC01 (new instance 2008R2)

The Output:

“SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY” folder is a container instead of a public folder, you shouldn"t set any public folder database as replica on it

“EX:/o=Mail NSNW/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)” folder is the one you should set public folder database as replica on

The current setting will cause the identical symptom that you are having right now

By the way, SRVEXC01 is running exchange 2007 SP3, right?

“The server 'SRVMAIL01' specified does not hold a replica of public folder '\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY\EX:/o=Mail NSNW/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)'. Synchronizing public folder content can only occur from a server which holds a replica of that public folder”

Please connect to the server that has the replica of this folder in the public folder management console when you try to update the content

Also, does the folder only have one public folder database as the replica? If so, you don"t have to run content update

Just make sure that the folder has one replica

James Luo

Frederic_CH

Unfortunately, both server say that they have no replica

how to rebuild the content

J

James-Luo

Quote: “both server say that they have no replica”

Don"t you have added the replica? Please run the cmdlet below:

Set-PublicFolder -Identity " \NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY\EX:/o=Mail NSNW/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)" -Replicas " SRVEXC01\Second Storage Group\Public Folder Database"

Quote: “how to rebuild the content”

Outlook client is responsible for rebuild the content. Please see the article below
