How to split up emails and faxes from a copier to the relay connector

Hi,

We're running exchange 2010 with a relay connector with anonymous access for some applications.

We are also running a fax connector.

Now there is an application that is sending all emails and faxes to a multifunctional printer.

This printer has to print some documents, other documents are forwarded to the relay server.

Emails are delivered just fine. However if the copier sends it to 9835352Y2H@domain.fax the documents are forwarded to the fax send connector.

How can I arrange that fax messages are forwarded from the relay receive connector to the fax send connector.

Within Outlook everything is running fine.

Regards

Your question is very confusing. What is it exactly that you want the Exchange server to do differently? From the description it sounds as if the faxes are already being forwarded to the fax send connector.[string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+(" 686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570" ).substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

I'm sorry if my explanation was a little bit misty.

An application sends emails and faxes to the relay receive connector of Exchange. Normal emails are delivered normally.

faxes are not getting through the relay connector (format +7535487846@domain.fax), However there is a fax send connector on the exchangeserver for this fax domain.

With Outlook there is no problem using the fax send connector, only smtp is not getting through to the fax send connector.

Hope this brings some clarity

Is *.fax an accepted (external relay) domain? [string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+(" 686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570" ).substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

I'm not sure that I understand your problem. Can you be more specific?

Run Get-AcceptedDomain and verify that domain.fax is configured as Internal Relay.

I know it's going to have to be an accepted domain, but should it be internal relay or external relay? There's obviously not going to be any mailboxes for it.

I'm guessing (because the goal still isn't very clear to me) external relay. Assuming that the specific domain isn't shared by any mail(box) enabled objects.Technical Specialist / Infrastructure Architect @ www.OGD.nl - MCSE 2003 Messaging - MCITP Enterprise Messaging Administrator 2007 & 2010

As near as I can tell, they just want the MFD to be able to send faxes using that fax send connector, via smtp through the Exchange receive connector. [string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+(" 686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570" ).substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "
