I am planning to install Outlook 2007 to be used with a large numer of "old" mails copied to a .pst file on another computer. I would like to continue to use Windows Live Mail as the "active" mail program.

How do I configure the Outlook 2007 account parameters (servers etc) not to interfer with Win Live Mail? Should I use another mail address in Outlook?

Just set up Outlook with no email account.

But why on EARTH you would want to use Windows Live Mail instead of (presumablty paid-for) Outlook I just don't know....

Thank you! I followed your tip. How do I now connect Outlook with my copied .PST file?

Not a recommended move. Never rename a PST file in Windows Explorer. Open the new PST file in Outlook, then disconnect the old one by closing it.Russ Valentine
