Problem is with Outlook 2010, I never had this problem with past versions of Outlook. I use hosted exchange and when my laptop is connected to the network I archive my mail to a pst folder I keep on the network drive. When I disconnect my laptop from the network without remembering to close the pst files in Outlook:
1. Outlook slows to a crawl and seems to endlessly try to reconnect to the pst folders on open.
2. Won't freaking let me close them! That is, if I right-click on the pst folder, the only option that appears is "open in new window". Any tricks for how I might do such a dastardly thing as close the pst file without being connected to it so that Outlook stops trying to reconnect ad infinitum?
Sometimes MS software just drives me crazy .
Thanks
