I have Windows 7 Professional 64bit with Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus 32bit... everything has been functioning just fine together, for the past year. However, recently whenever I go to launch Outlook I get an error messege that says "Microsoft Setup Bootstraper has stopped working" then it closes down and that's it... but, everything else appears to be working just fine, I don't have any problems with any other software that I have notice, it seems everything else is functioning normally. I tried to "repair my Office 2010" software with no changes. I'm am wondering, with all the knowledge here, if someone could assist me and help guide me through some type of resolution. In advance, thank you for your time and effort.

Try putting the DVD in the drive and repairing it from Setup, not from add/remove programs.

If that fails and "Data Execution Prevention" (DEP) is turned on for all programs and services then this may be the cause. To check your DEP setting do the following:

Click the Start button and select Control Panel, type System in the search field if you don't see it.

Double-click on the System icon, go to Advanced system settings.

Click the "Settings…" button under Performance on the Advanced tab of the System Properties screen that is displayed.

Select the Data Execution Prevention tab on the Performance Options screen that is displayed.

If you have "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select" already selected then you need to either change the setting to "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services" or add *autorun.exe* to the exception list. To add *autorun.exe* (depending on which you are using) to the exception list do the following:

Click the "Add…" button at the bottom of the screen and navigate to the folder that *autorun.exe* is in and select the program.

You'll need to restart Windows before the change takes effect.
