E-mail not deleting from Inbox

I am using Outlook Express on one of my pc's, and I cannot delete e-mails from my Inbox which I have read - or not read for that matter. I can send and receive without any issues. I have a sneaking suspicion that my .pst may be at or nearing capacity. Thanks!
 
Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express? Express doesn't use pst files.

Can you delete them using Shift+Delete? Is the deleted items folder empty?
