Sending video attachment with e-mail

I attempted recently for the first time to send an e-mail with a short video attachment. I got an error message which had the Norton/Symantec logo on it. So I contacted them. They claim the messate is not from them but from MS Outlook. The message is:

550 5.6.0 Required headers not found (Section 3.6). I've contacted my ISP and they say it's not from them. I have compressed the file. Nothing works. The attachment is 217MB.

Can anyone help?
 
217 MB is a bit big for an attachment - many servers only go up to 20 MB, if that. The problem with larger files is that it takes so long to send that the mail client times out. You would do better to upload it some where for the recipient to download.

If you start outlook in safe mode, do you get the error? (Hold Ctrl as you click on the Outlook icon to start in Safe mode.)

This will generally rule out antivirus or security software as the cause.
