Outlook 2010 will not add or display new email accounts

Outlook will not allow me to setup or add new email accounts. To clarify, I add a new account in the usual way. Outlook then appears to run a test messsage which is sucessful. It even shows the email account in the window where all email accounts are dispalyed. However, when I click on "New Email", it will not show any of the newly added email accounts. One other thing (I am not sure if this is related) but when I now go to the defined email accounts (or is it defined user groups), it will not let me edit the the individual email accounts (the edit tab will not open). Sorry I cannot be more specific as I am running a scanpst right now. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Diane, I tried your recommendation but it didnt work. Any other suggestions? I am pretty desperate! Now that my outlook has finished running scanpst, I can explain with a little more clarity what the problem is:

  1. I usually add add pop3 email accounts manually into Outlook with no problems (just the usuall adjustments under "Advanced Setting" as per ISP provider and the domain name seller requirements);
  2. I wanted to add new email accounts from a new domain name/webhosting program I purchased from Network Solutions. On their website, they suggested using a third party software to automatically add new email accounts to outlook;
  3. I mention the above just in case it had something to do with my problem (since then I have removed the program and what I could see in terms of associated files)
  4. I have added email accounts to Outlook 2010 manually. The email accounts are functional as I can reach them without using an email client. Aftre adding the accounts (Outlook>Info>File>Account Settings>Email Accounts>New> ..Manually Configure ...> Test Email). After doiung this, the account shows it is working and it is displayed in the "Email Accounts" window)
  5. When I then go to Outlook>File>New Email icon and click on the "From" drop down button, none of the New email accounts show up!
  6. Also, when I go to Outlook>File>sedn and Receive>Send and Receive Groups>Define Send and Receive Groups>All Accounts> Edit, the "Edit" button will not open.
I am really deseperate. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
 
I have exactly the same problem - email boxes bought through Network Solutions and the configured to Outlook using their offered software. Outlook shows the accounts are there in the settings tab, but try and write a new email and then select which account to send from and some (not all) of the new accounts are missing? As you are finding out though - send a test emal to these accounts and yes, they pop up in Outlook. Just can't get into them to send a fresh email thread out. Any ideas?
