Outlook 2007 archive folders and files

Hi , I need to backup all archive of Outlook 2007:

1) Email messages

2) Accounts

3) Address book

4) Rules

5) Signature

What file/s I must copy to get all of these ??

I don't want use any import/export function, becouse I use an external backup software.

1. copy the pst file - this contains all of your mail calendar and contacts (if using vista or win7, its at %localappdata\microsoft\outlook)


2. these are in the reqistry. We don't recommend exporting the reg file for use on another machine because it contains paths specific to the computer.


3. Contacts are in the pst


4. export them from the rules wizard interface. The rules are in the pst and in most cases they will work on any computer but may need repointed to the correct folders. The export copy is only for insurance - you may not need it.


5. they are in app data\microsoft\signatures (%appdata%\microsoft\signatures)

I have migrate from outlook express to outlook 2007.

I have imported all informations but not the address book.

The address book that I have, is in pst format and wab format.

How I can import the address book to outlook 2007 ?
 
I have paid an external company to convert my old wab file to pab.

The company was send me the file in pst format.

What can I do ?? The company was send me the correct file or not ??
 
The pst should work fine. Open it in in Outlook using File, Open, Outlook Data file then copy the contacts from that pst and put them in your current contacts folder. If you use a list view, like By Category, you can select all then use the Copy to folder command to copy them all at once.

What doesn't work - is the pst's contacts folder empty?

You don't want a pab - the convert from OE instructions are here: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/convert_oe.asp - at the bottom (its a 2-step process). If you still have access to the machine with OE, you could export to CSV there and import the CSV into Outlook. That would avoid the need for live mail, if you are on windows 7.

Also - the contacts are in the Contacts folder. If the pst has them but you don't see them in the address book, its a different problem. You need to either move the contacts to your default contacts folder or enabe it as an address book.

If you open a contact, is there anything in the email display name field?




If you want, you can email the pst and wab file and i'll look at them - use diane at slipstick.com - it will be later this afternoon before i will be able to look at it as we are traveling and i'll be in an area where there is no internet, but i will look at it ASAP and see what is wrong.
