building new contact form

Tried this a few times over the years but have not been able to figure it out.


I am a realtor, and I'm trying to build a new contact form where i can enter the transaction details, ie: buyers, seller, agents, ect...


So, I open a new contact, click on developer, develop this or new form.


Using the contact form:


I add in a new section, lets say..."Buyer info". I then add a name field, from the frequently used field section. The problem is that when I run this form to test or publish it, names seem to auto populate into other name fields. I can't seem to decipher where the data is pulled from. How do I stop this from happening. I understand that somewhere in the properties area of each new field there is a value that it is "pulling" from, correct?


Can someone direct me? I have played around with this forever buy cant seem to get it right.

This is a new, empty form? The predefined fields can only be used once, or more correctly, can only have one set of data. The name fields (and address, phone etc) get the data from the fields on the main page - its always going to be the contact and his address, phone etc

You'll need to use textboxes for the agent/buyer/seller name and address fields, except when you need to repeat the contacts name field on a different tab - like if the contact is also the seller. If you want this, you would need 2 different forms - one when your contact is the buyer and one for when he is the seller.
