Need to merge PST, and remove duplicate items

I have a number of old archive PSTs (6) that I need to merge and remove any duplicate items (contacts, email messages, etc). Once this is done, I'll be burning them to a disc for archival purposes, but will not need regular access to them.


Can anyone suggest a good approach to this?
 
I'm lazy... I'd just burn them to disk. Otherwise, create a new nomail profile and attach one pst file - if none are in the new unicode format, use the pst the profile wants to create for you. Import all of the pst files, run a duplicate checker... close all of the old pst files.

If you burn the pst to a disk, you'll need to copy it to the hard drive before you can open it.

You could also create a new Outlook profile and import them one at a time making sure to select do not import duplicates. Once imported you would be able to export as one .pst file.
 
The duplicate warning should only be for contacts. Also, no need to export when you are finished. Just find the pst file and burn it to the DVD. This is the method I'd use, if i wanted to merge pst files.
