Default account - Outlook Data File

When my 32 bit Outlook 2010 opens it defaults to an unused "Outlook Data File" account.

All my accounts are IMAP and I have to click to open the default email account and then click to select the inbox continually throughout the day.

Can I move/hide/delete the "Outlook Data File" account or force Outlook to open the account I've designated as default?

No, you can't remove or hide that data file - when you have imap accounts you need one local pst for calendar, contacts, etc because they are not supported by imap.




You can set any folder as the one to default to when you open outlook - File, options, advanced - its near the top of the advanced page.




If you use the Favorites folders you can remove the local data file inbox and put the most used imap folders there - that may make it less annoying.
