Opening Word Doc's in Adobe Acrobat Pro

Hi,

New to this forum so Hello :o)

I have been running Office 2003 on my system for a while now and everything was working fine.

I have also had Adobe ACrobat Pro installed on the same machine and again every thing was fine.

Thsi morning I installed Adobe Photoshop CS2 and since then, if I get an email with a Word document attached to it, when I try and open the attachment it opens in Adobe.

If I right click and save as, then open from the saved location it opens in word fine.

In the attachment the icon is the word icon.

I can't find a way of stopping this. Have uninstalled Acrobat and word docs open fine, re-install acrobat and the same issue occurs. Why would installing Photoshop cause this?

Please help
 
It should affect documents opened by double clicking too...

Right click on the doc file on the hard drive and choose Open With... then select Word. If this doesn't fix the problem in Outlook, disable the Adobe addin in Outlook.
 
Thanks for your quick reply.

When it is on the hard drive, word is already the default program so that doesn't fix it.

Brilliant idea with the add-in but just looked and I can see no add-in for adobe... assume it would be a com add in? Either way under both add-ins there is no adobe. Gutted thought that was going to be the fix!

It is Adobe Acrobat 7 & Adobe Photoshop CS2 that is installed on the machine.
 
As my editor for what sorry?

The problem is trying to open a word doc that has been sent to me so is an attachment in my email.
 
Oh sorry, Outlook is the editor, but would that affect opening an attachment.

No have not run office repair as yet, would that help?
