Hello Diane,

After having found your solution to getting data into Excel without exporting, I have run into an issue where the format of the Modified date in Outlook is not respected once copied to Excel (see attached document). It is strange that this happens only to the Modified date and not the Created date.Do you have any idea why this is happening?

Did you try applying a different date format on the column in excel? If that doesn't fix it, I won't be able to test anything until later today, I'm stuck in jury duty hell and only have my iPad with me.

I have tried various methods to get it to reflect the correct date format in Excel but to no avail. Even more confusing is that I extracted the Received Date and Modified Date fields in Outlook to Excel and the Modified Date format is correct but not the Received Date. :confused:

Which date format do you use in Outlook? In a quickie test, you need to use mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm format (or the EU format with dd and mm reversed). Any that include day of the week won't format correctly in Excel - they'll either be treated as text or as times.

I can't repro your screenshot with some cells formatted ok, my results are uniform - the format either works or it doesn't.

BTW, the Received format (long date in Outlook) is considered text in Excel.

Your explanations are logical and true. I have worked around this as I can't change my system date format as other Excel spreadsheets are looking for this specific format. Thank you for your time.
