Hi all,
I have read lots of tidbits about the migration of Outlook.com to Exchange infrastructure but can't seem to find (or don't understand) the answer to this more basic question: when the migration is complete, will the functionality of an Outlook.com account in Outlook 2013/2016 be EXACTLY the same as the functionality that I have with, for example, my Office 365 for Business (Exchange Online) work-based e-mail account in Outlook 2013/2016? If not, what will be different? Also, will I be able to have both my work account and Outlook.com account in Outlook 2013/2016 at the same time?
I have always used Outlook (desktop program) for my personal calendar and contacts because I like/want/need the rich functionality that comes with it (color coding, automatic formatting, lots of fields in the contacts, and so on). I have never wanted, however, to mix my calendar and contacts with work-related items so I keep them separate in a local Outlook file without an e-mail address attached to it. The price I pay, of course, is that my personal items do not automatically sync to anything.
I was considering setting up my own Office 365 for Business (Exchange Online) account and using it for personal use when I came across the news that Outlook.com was heading that way and would be free, so here I am... (By the way, again, would I even be able to have 2 such accounts in Outlook 2013/2016?)
Thank you very much!
