Microsoft Outlook 2016 - Gmail not sending, asks for password for SMTP, tried different ports

I figured you would try your broken account in Windows Mail, but I suppose a new test account is the same idea.

Interesting results. If POP is allowed in Gmail.com Settings, I wonder why it is not working. Was it still complaining about the password or a different error this time? Not sure if your ISP or local Firewall blocking ports would cause something like that.
It's not my ISP. I'm in a hotel in Arizona, and same problem. Perhaps my Avira is blocking.

I had an appointment with Diane today. Unfortunately, I had to take a phone call so I did not catch exactly what she did to resolve, but she had to go into Google Security and "allow a new device." I did not receive a warning from Google previously alerting me to allow a new device. I'm not working from a new device, so I guess a Windows update caused the problem. Thank you for your time.

For what it's worth, I've had to unlock 3 times in the hour since Diane logged off of my computer. Something is going on with Google for me.

And now about about 4.5 hours of Diane's solution working, it is no longer working. Something is definitely going on with my Gmail. I will be reaching out to Diane again.
