I have a similar issue than the one posted here: Calendar View in Outlook Office 365 - Doesn't show enough hours, and the 30/60 min choice isn't the solution
It is not well thought out by the developers, IMHO, that by default, the outlook calendar does not fit full 8 hours of work days. In much of the industrialized world 8 hours is the default time that people work - so showing these 8 hours should have been a basic design requirement.
So, here we are. I do not want to show a simplified ribbon, because I do use those buttons frequently.
I do not want to change to 60 minute intervals, because I very often have half hour meetings back to back.
As someone suggested, I reduced the font size for the calendar and now it fits the 8 hours, but also now the font is a bit too tiny.
The ribbon itself is a bit fat and could easily fit in a slightly narrower area, but that's not even the biggest issue.
Why on earth is the space right under it (with the week, day names etc) so damn big?
If developers are designing for tablet mode, they should not. That is why the APP exists. The desktop version of Outlook should stay as that: a desktop version, designed to be used with a mouse. And so, make the white space adequate for such use. Or, let users customize it. The current design has a major negative impact on my daily work.
