These two issues have been bugging me for ages. I finally decided to search for a solution. I was amazed to find this post from 2014 - 7 years ago! - stating it was a problem, and this post from Microsoft (last updated in Feb 2020 when I looked) stating "The Outlook Team is investigating this issue. When we have more information, we will update this topic.". If their reaction time to picking up on a problem is 6 years, I'm not hopeful of seeing a fix in the near future.

Does anyone understand what causes this issue? I am the only one using my email. I've never altered the message in another window when I get this error. It is hugely annoying and happens reasonably regularly to me when trying to move an email I'm reading to another folder, or flagging the email for follow-up. If I close the email, I can then move it or flag it for follow-up. Yes, a simple work-around but what the hell is going on under the covers to give me the error?!

I have a Microsoft 365 account, run Outlook on my PC, and have it attached via IMAP to an email account with my internet service provider. Any known fixes for stopping the errors happening?
