Unified inbox shows moved messages for a while

I use the "unified inbox" view as discussed a while ago in another thread (the search query is "folder:Inbox"). One of the inboxes included is Apple's me.com. Whenever I move a message (in this unified inbox view) from me.com into any local folder, the view will only change the display of such...

IMAP accounts and existence of similar folders

The other day I discovered the greatest irony with the "Junk E-mail" folder: Outlook.com uses its own folder called "Junk". When you connect to it via Outlook 2010, the "Junk E-mail" folder is, of course, added. And there's no way on outlook.com to either delete its "Junk" folder or remap it...

IMAP accounts and existence of similar folders

I see posts #12 and #14 are identical, and there's duplication in #10. Human error, server error, or on purpose?

IMAP accounts and existence of similar folders

Be my guest. It's for the good of mankind. ;) So the reason why the registry key thing didn't work on my Outlook (it kept re-creating the folder despite that) was probably because I didn't delete the PST files? Is it then enough to delete IMAP accounts' PST files while Outlook is not running...

IMAP accounts and existence of similar folders

Yep, I did discover that in the meantime -- mapping the correct Sent and Trash folders (and deleting the extras) was pretty straightforward in Outlook after all. However, Junk E-Mail folder seems to be something that just can't be re-mapped, deleted, or whatever (Google didn't find anything...

No, not Gmail. GMX. Yes, I can subscribe or unsubscribe normally.

IMAP accounts and existence of similar folders

One thing that could be a giveaway that it's not an Outlook's folder is also that the Delete Folder is not grayed out; and when trying to delete it, I get a dialog box saying it's not possible to delete the folder & that the server responded: "source folder connot be renamed." (exactly so :) ).

IMAP accounts and existence of similar folders

Any idea what the "OUTBOX" folder (all caps) could be (on GMX mail)? It doesn't show up on their webmail interface, or on other devices - I can only see it on my Outlook 2010. Is this what Outlook creates (on server or locally?) for itself when sending mail via IMAP account? I've also used...

IMAP accounts and existence of similar folders

I did that, exited Outlook, even rebooted the machine... the "Junk" button is grayed out; however, the "Junk E-mail" folder was recreated on every IMAP account again.

IMAP accounts and existence of similar folders

Addendum: I was able to "map" the me.com's Deleted Messages in Outlook properly (so I was able to remove the one Outlook created). However, I still can't get rid of "Junk E-Mail" folders; I can remove them on the server (and in turn choose Update Folder List in Outlook). But they get re-created...

IMAP accounts and existence of similar folders

I've noticed that some of my IMAP accounts have similar folders within their respective folder structure (e.g. Junk as well as Junk-Email, Trash as well as Deleted Items...). Does Outlook (2010), as well as other IMAP mail or webmail clients, add its own "system" folders to the structure...

Access to contacts, calendar, tasks... from 3rd party applications

Is this the case from version 2013 on? Because I never got the feeling that in version 2010 or earlier any permission or add-in was required. Skype never added any add-ins, yet it had access to contacts way before MS acquired them. I don't remember any of my sync tools (be it Nokia...

Access to contacts, calendar, tasks... from 3rd party applications

I guess I never thought "in these terms" before owning a tablet or a smartphone... but how exactly is Outlook (2010) on a "desktop" Windows OS protecting 3rd party applications' access to its sensitive data (contacts, calendar(s), etc.)? I get the feeling it's in there for grabs for just...

    Outlook.com with custom/own domain

Does anyone have experience with outlook.com mail services on custom/own domains? If I understood it correctly, you can have one domain and up to 50 accounts on the free version. Is catch-all and mail forwarding supported? What do they do with www.yourdomain.xyz; I mean, can you put a simple...

    Color options in 2010...

Probably quite a beginner's question, given the fact I've been using Office for a long time... but is there absolutely no way to add other color options to Outlook/Office 2010 (or tweak the existing ones)? Plainly said - Black can be hard to read at times (especially from a distance)...

    Skype and contacts security/privacy

Exactly how safe are supposed to be our Outlook Contacts, given the fact that Skype can access them? I never really thought of a Windows computer this way, but ever since we can actually tweak whether an (iOS or Android) app can access locally stored contacts, I've been suspicious about this...

Recurrence for N times, and one gets cancelled

Seems strange that no one at Microsoft didn't think of this (unless it's a common calendar services "bug"/feature everywhere)... If you create an appointment with recurrence (using an option to "end after N occurrences"), and you delete one occurrence somewhere in the middle later on (because it...

    Junk Mail filtering and IMAP

Thought so. In any case, should it move the spam items into the local Junk E-Mail folder, or within the respective IMAP's junk-mail folders?
