Why some RSS feeds stop getting updates?

I have yet to reboot the computer, we'll see if that helps (but I did "restart" Outlook, of course). Just to be sure: Is the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security, with DWORD of NonDefaultStoreScript set to 1? I'm asking because on some sites I noticed...

Why some RSS feeds stop getting updates?

I guess Facebook has been trying really hard lately to keep people locked within their walled garden... Oh well. So is it possible to have the home page set up on an other-than-default PST file in 2007 (apart from that registry tweak, which apparently doesn't do anything on my system)?

Why some RSS feeds stop getting updates?

That's weird, that very same feed I used in this example just got downloaded. Not sure if it's on their side, or on mine (as I've changed the "Show home page by default" on the default RSS folder (but not the one used for storing RSS feeds, that's in another PST file) -- speaking of which, I was...

Why some RSS feeds stop getting updates?

You mean creating a new profile from "Mail (32-bit)" entry in Control Panel? I never tried that. What will "break" or got reset if I do this? (if I have to enter all my email accounts data, customize the toolbars and windows again, I guess I'll live with that RSS error :) )

Why some RSS feeds stop getting updates?

Good question, I never tried that before. Well, I tried it now, and it gives an error (I don't know why it always gives any send/receive error twice): Task "RSS Feeds" reported error 0xFDE04005: Synchronization to RSS Feed ... has failed. Outlook cannot process the RSS content from ... The...

Why some RSS feeds stop getting updates?

I've discovered that some RSS feeds simply stop being updated at some point. Any speculation as to why this happens? I don't know if it's an Outlook related or provider related issue. For instance, this is the latest such example: Our Ultimate Reality's Facebook Wall I just...

Exporting all contacts to VCF files possible?

Yup, I was able to export one contact into a vcard, but when I selected multiple, it only offered some TXT export. So that was not a viable solution for 1200+ contacts. Anyhow, in case anyone else will look for it -- I discovered that Nokia PC Suite (not Nokia Suite) actually supports one-way...

Exporting all contacts to VCF files possible?

You mean it doesn't support exporting contacts in separate vcard files? Because that's what I need in order to import them to my Nokia phone, but I can't seem to find any option - it just offers export to comma separated values, tab separated values etc.

Exporting all contacts to VCF files possible?

Is it possible to export all Outlook contacts into (separate) VCF files? Syncing with my Nokia "phone" via Nokia Suite can produce some issues, so I'd like to use this as a workaround to lack of "asymmetric sync" (N900 seems to only support import/export into separate VCF files per each contact).

    Auto-formatting of certain phone numbers

I tried using "International Freephone Service" as the location, and restarted Telephony service afterwards. The phone number I entered in a phone field was instead changed from "+1 212 5551212" into "1 212 5551212" (which is even worse as the "+" indicates that the number starts in country...

    Auto-formatting of certain phone numbers

Is it still impossible to switch off Outlook's auto-format of phone numbers completely? I wasn't able to find anything useful on this topic on Google (apart from the "feature" being impossible to change). I'd prefer to keep it simple: +CountryCode AreaCode PhoneNumber i.e. without...

Outlook 2007 not closing network connections with RSS feeds

Is this a bug or some sort of a feature I don't understand? Namely, Outlook seems to keep all connections to various RSS feeds sources (remote ports mostly http or https) at CLOSE_WAIT state. Shouldn't they close after a while? Not sure if it "hurts" anything, but it definitely clogs up the view...

    Outlook 2007 after Win7 from hibernation/sleep

Aw, snap. :( OK, I've gotten used to doing other stuff before checking my email, as the first thing after hibernation, guess that won't change. :) On a side note, is the Extended MAPI also the reason why 2007 is slower than 2000 with downloading (and afterwards displaying) email? I remember...

    Outlook 2007 after Win7 from hibernation/sleep

When my computer "wakes up" from either sleep or hibernation, Outlook won't immediately be able to check for new mail. I press F9, the send/receive details opens up, but it's stuck for at least a minute or so, before it actually starts to do anything (the application is not frozen, it's just...

Is IMAP automatically refreshed when clicking the folder?

I usually use POP3 and manually trigger mail download with F9. However, I also have one IMAP account. It's not in the active send/receive groups for some reason :) and I was wondering, do I have to manually "refresh" it with Send/Receive when I want to check for new mail there, or does Outlook...

Button for Send/Received for a specific account

I suppose a workaround is then to also create a send/receive group that only includes one account.

Button for Send/Received for a specific account

Is it possible to create a toolbar button (in Outlook 2007) that would execute Send/Receive on one specific mail account only? I have send/receive groups, and the pull-down button for all accounts from the toolbar, but that involves some menu-wading. :)

    stop facebook?

Providing people actually have their portraits in their profiles. Most don't (at least not in FB). Lots of them even have something completely different in that picture. :) I try to be able to put faces to names using my brain, period. :) It's a good exercise and doesn't require electricity...

    stop facebook?

Well, having installed Social Connector a few months ago, I quickly discovered how "convenient" it is to see whether other "parties" are on Facebook (and see what they're sharing). It was especially a "revelation" when I received an email with quite a few recipients in the "To:" field, seeing...
