have to purge to delet

i have a imap account and a pop account, the pop wokes fine but imap wont delet.

when i delet a line goes through it, then the only way to delet is to purge. can someone tell me if i can just hit delet

and tell is go

That is how imap works in outlook - its marked for deletion then you need to purge (Edit menu if i recall correctly)
