Outlook 2007 - Automatic purge fail

I've set up Outlook 2007 so that deleted emails should be purged when I switch folders (IMAP connection, btw). For years this has worked... now it doesn't.... and I have to purge manually which works but is a nuisance.,

Any ideas for a fix?
