Outlook 2007: Address Cards allow entering text! Why?

I have contacts showing up as Address Cards as a default view. I can enter text on any of the cards which then shows up on the contact dialog box. Why is that? Can I configure Outlook to prevent that? When I enter text in this mode it is only by accident. If I want to change something in a contact I go to the contact's dialog box and do it there.

If you turn off in-cell editing, iut should prevent you from editing the address cards in the view. In 2007, this is on the view menu - View > Current View > Customize view > Other settings button
 
Thank you! It never ceases to amaze me how complicated and obscure Outlook is. I come from InfoCentral, if you know what that is/was, which was complicated in its own way but ultimately accessible and malleable to ones way of working.
