In my table view of contacts for a new contact db I just made, some of the contacts have a check box available to flag as private an some don't. I would prefer it be all or none. I can't figure out why some have it and not others.
Thanks. I tried that and the paste was a mess. That's cause I was including the Notes field. Exporting handled the Notes field beautifully. The Notes column was a bit weird, HOWEVER, all Notes were in the same column and all rows were 'single' looking until I clicked on a Notes cell. Then the...
I use the wizard to export a contact folder but I use the field mapping because I don't want most of the fields.
But one of the fields I DO want is the IM address (I used it for some info I wanted on each contact) and it doesn't seem to appear in the field mapping list anywhere unless I'm just...
To be sure I'm clear, I believe you are saying that because my emails are in two different .psts, for those contacts whose emails are in the 2nd one and for whom I can't use the Activities tab, which would include these special emails that I 'attached' to a contact, I would need to use a query...
Yeah, I don't get all this talk of 'broken' activities. Mine (knock on wood) works 100% fine.
I get 100% of all activities that I can tell like email, tasks, appts, and linked contacts (although I've been unlinking contacts cause Outlook 2010 doesn't seem to like that anymore.
Also, what I love...
Whoops - just found this on your website:
Activities in other data files
Activities (as limited as they are in Outlook 2010) are only supported in the default data file. Contacts in other data files will not have an Activities button on the toolbar.
So that was my whole purpose - I was...
I don't think I explained it very well.
My 2nd .pst has only email folders.
I right clicked on the top level and clicked on New Folder.
I chose Contacts for type and created it.
I was then 'in it' as far as I could tell and created a new contact.
I saved and closed.
Then I could not find the...
[single computer, single user - Windows 10, Outlook 2010, no add'l devices so no syncing needed, no mobile version, etc.]
I have two .psts files - both POP3
First one was original and has everything, even more than one contact folder.
Second .pst created years later to deal with email for...
I thought I was losing my mind.
Now I see this is REALLY a problem - like MAJOR.
First off, when I add them to safe senders list it doesn't stick. The next time I edit the Flag content, it will ask me again next time I open it to save it to Safe Senders list again.
Oh goodness. After looking what I thought was "everywhere' at least I found how to 'find' this.
If an email is highlighted, on Toolbar I go to
Left most group New
Drop down arrow on New Items
Last choice, black arrow to right of More
Choose "Post to folder"
OK, so now I can make it...
I've been using Outlook since the 90's and I've never seen this 'functionality'. I think I must have moved my mouse over something and inadvertently opened this 'item' up. I've attached a screenshot of it. I've Googled and searched throughout Outlook itself and can't find how I came across it in...
Is pop account. I think it must be from an update cause never saw this before.
I think it's a security thing -a security hole of some kind where anything other than default phrase is blocked. Some hacker must have found a vulnerability. So if that is the case, then I am thankful. I just hate...
OK, just Googled it verbatim and found this.
Blocked Follow Up text - MSOutlook.info
Still trying to decipher it.
Mainly because this is NOT on emails I am receiving. In fact it's not on emails at all.
It's on flags that "I" am flagging.
So I guess Outlook it just blocking them all, well, sort...
Had to take screen clippings in Word and then make a screenshot of that. The first one is what I get when I open it - this is a contact record! And then the second one is what I get when I click on it. So far I can't determine a pattern. It doesn't always happen. I will set it and it's fine...
First let me say that I am on a loaner PC and this has never happened to me before so I'm thinking some (bizarre) setting got changed during the set up on the temporary PC.
I am in Contact record and I go to add a Flag to it and it says it's 'hidden text' and I get 3 choices, one of which is...
