Not happening in the portal Outlook only local Outlook 365. Creating new profile on same or different machine and safe mode doesn't fix the problem. on the contacts that it occurs, one can edit all the other fields but not the main body. latest monthly release, Win 10.

Lengthening the time between saves to 5 minutes from 1 minute seems to have eliminated the unintended draft accumulation. On one box I set it to 8 minutes and just now fat fingered something and lost the last 7 minutes of typing. I'll try 4 minutes. Thank you for the solution.

Not totally sure, but when I reopen Outlook it usually doesn't suggest that I open in safe mode. Wouldn't it do that if it had just crashed? if crashed, should I see that in a specific event log or view?
