when searching and possibly some other functions Outlook pops up an annoying window with hints. It obscures the screen. Can that be disabled or moved in views etc?
MS documentation was wrong. it's Ctrl-Shift F11 to lock and Ctrl-Shift F9 to unlock.
Wish there were a way to make the default for Shift-Alt d to be fixed date but don't think there is.
shift-alt d creates a dynamic self updating date. so does just starting to type the current date.
But most of the time I want a static date to document the date i entered some info into the notes
a. is there a keyboard shortcut to enter a static today date?
b. is there a setting to make...
MS never came out with a fix. But the most straight forward fix is to delete current profile and search for the ost file on every machine. Then create a new profile. That presumedly? brings down a clean copy of what's in the cloud. Haven't had the problem recurr.
(supposedly deleting a...
Not happening in the portal Outlook only local Outlook 365. Creating new profile on same or different machine and safe mode doesn't fix the problem.
on the contacts that it occurs, one can edit all the other fields but not the main body.
latest monthly release, Win 10.
problem continues with other mail recipients that have more than one email address. No matter what shows before sending, always goes to primary address.

Diane, three or four hours and 3 MS techs later, I was going to agree with you.
But now I'm feeling it's a wierd interaction between an add-in and autocomplete that's causing the problem.
Maybe a combo of corrupted autocomplete and an add-in.
Problem is only with contacts that have a...
Outlook Office 365 local: So far only had this issue where both spouses were previously on the same contact and then later one was added to a new spouse only contact. Probably left the original joint contact alone, but not sure.
When sending emails to the spouse (second person listed...
Lengthening the time between saves to 5 minutes from 1 minute seems to have eliminated the unintended draft accumulation. On one box I set it to 8 minutes and just now fat fingered something and lost the last 7 minutes of typing. I'll try 4 minutes. Thank you for the solution.
not sure what you mean by having a draft open. But I assume you mean are the drafts from my very recently created and eventually sent emails, then yes.
Yes I have Outlook open to same Office 365 account on multiple pcs, but only use one for hours at a time. But I do have a second Office 365 mail account "fully delegated" to my main account. (I regret that method. Makes it easy to reinstall Outlook, but all sent email get saved in the main sent...
I am also so inclined. I use StandSS SendGuard because I often hit send without carefully checking the auto suggested recipient. Or I was too hasty writing something.
I rarely access my Gmail Imap inbox and never send from Gmail. It's the Office 365 accounts that are generating multiple incomplete and even completely blank drafts.
But other than the completely blank drafts, looks like drafts were saved automatically after i started writing the email...
but turns out that in July 2018, Apple removed ability to add second notification to a calendar event. At least on iphone.
Trying an iphone add on app CalAlarm that has a "nag" function. But a reminder to remind me to configure the nag after creating the event o my pc or iphone calendar...
is the conclusion still that there's nothing gained by Office 365 users with iphones, by installing Icloud on their Windows PC's?
Since Outlook calendar still doesn't allow more than one notification per calendar event, but the Iphone calendar allows two, I erroneously thought installing Icloud...
any comprehensive articles/guidelines on when one can create as Office 365 cloud server based rule vs a local machine Outlook rule? Found one article that only gave a couple of examples such as don't base rule on sender but on words in header.
Also, is it impossible to make a server cloud...
My profile has two Office 365 accounts and one Gmail IMAP account, which I rarely use. Notice this happening only on the two Office accounts. Could be related to my unintentional closing of Outlook, but I think it happens much more often than that.
Is there a way to turn off the automatic...
Not totally sure, but when I reopen Outlook it usually doesn't suggest that I open in safe mode. Wouldn't it do that if it had just crashed? if crashed, should I see that in a specific event log or view?
